Day 2 of National Conference- 1st March, 2024
Day 2 had more eminent speakers who spoke about Crisis to Connection in their respective fields. Paper presentations took place; with several colleges and professionals presenting research papers. A research paper on behalf of IAPS too was presented. The best paper received an award; all papers were reviewed by an expert panel.
There was a vibrant Panel Discussion on “From Crisis to Community: Creating resources for Support and Healing”
The Valedictory speech was delivered by Ms Venkata Priya, IAS, Chairman Teachers’ Recruitment board. After the Vote of Thanks, the Conference ended and was generally declared a huge success.
DAY 1 OF National Conference- 29th February, 2024
Day 1 of the National Conference started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the chief dignitary Prof Col A Ravikumar, Pro- Vice Chancellor, Medicine & Health Sciences, SRM Institute of Science and Technology. He welcomed the two day Conference theme of “From Crisis to Connection” Building Supportive Communities for Mental Health.
He observed in today’s fast paced, technology driven world, it is the mental health professionals who hold the responsible role of maintaining connection in this disconnected space.
The icing on the cake was the formal signing of an MOU between IAPS and MOP in presence of the chief guest.
Eminent speakers shared their knowledge and expertise. The day also saw a healthy Panel Discussion on ” Beyond the Classroom- Bridging Theory and Practice in Mental Health Field”
PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP
As a prelude to the 2 days National Conference organised by IAPS in collaboration with MOP Vaishnav College for Women- Department of Social Sciences, Psychology Program, a one full day workshop was organised on 28th February, 2024.
The workshop ” TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE” was facilitated by Dr Farida D’Silva Dias. Dr Farida is Sr Faculty, William Glasser International (WGI), Centre for Reality Therapy India (CRTI).
The workshop was well attended by students, academicians and mental health professionals. There was great sharing and wonderful participation; skillfully handled by Dr Farida in a humorous and easy paced style.
With exercises and stories, the whole workshop was a memorable experience.
RISEUP SUPERVISOR TRAINING, BANGALORE
The 19th batch of senior mental health professionals who underwent ACA accredited RISEUP Supervisor Training facilitated by IAPS. The training was held in Bangalore on the 5th, 6th and 7th January, 2024.
