Her remarkable journey is a testament to the saying, “Actions speak louder than words,” as her contributions continue to leave an indelible mark on the counselling fraternity. Her exceptional work has earned her several prestigious accolades. In 2024, she was recognised as one of the Top 10 Best Women Leaders in Career Counselling by Women Entrepreneur Magazine. She is also the proud recipient of the Legacy of Leadership Award from ALOHA International and the Atal Award 2025 for her outstanding contribution to mental health, presented by the former Governor of Telangana, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan. These honours are a fitting tribute to her unwavering dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence.
In 2017, driven by a heartfelt vision to transform lives, Dr. Vasuki founded Explore Counselling with the inspiring motto, “Hopeless to Hopeful.” As India’s first RISEUP Certified Supervisor, she has truly blazed a trail in professional supervision, raising the bar for ethical and competent counselling practice across the country. The icing on the cake is that she went on to establish the Indian Academy of Professional Supervisors (IAPS) in 2019, creating a pioneering platform dedicated to nurturing skilled, reflective, and ethical mental health professionals. As the saying goes, “She wears many hats,” and Dr. Vasuki embodies this perfectly. She serves as an Employee Assistance Program Consultant, contributes to advisory boards and Boards of Studies of reputed academic institutions, and regularly conducts impactful mental health training programmes, faculty development initiatives, workshops, and clinical supervision training. Her expertise has crossed geographical boundaries, with workshops and training programmes conducted in the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Australia, Doha, Sri Lanka, and across India—proving that her influence knows no bounds. Having interacted with multidimensional stakeholders in the field of Mental Health over two decades, she felt a compelling need to support and monitor Mental Health professionals to hone their skills so that they deliver effective therapy to their clients. Concurrently, the budding Mental Health professionals may also need therapeutic interventions to safeguard their Mental Health. Such a need warranted a group of readily available experienced and Certified professionals to Supervise and guide these Mental Health professionals. This need, coupled with her association with International Experts in the field of Counselling and Psychology gave birth to the establishment of “Indian Academy of Professional Supervisors.”
